When exploring Lower Antelope Canyon near Page, Arizona, the guides start your journey at one end and you walk your way through the canyon to the exit at the other end. There is so much to see and experience that it is tempting to simply focus on what is in front of you as you make your way through the twists and turns. The piece I call "The Door" is the result of when it came to mind that I should turn around and look at what might be behind me. I had just come through a fairly narrow section of the canyon and when I looked back, the sunlight reflecting off of one side of the canyon onto the other created an otherworldly glow along the curve of the canyon that was offset by the shadows and blue colors of the nearer walls being illuminated by open sky from above.
The Door looks simply amazing printed on any of the media options below. Textured media like Canvas will enhance the texture of the sandstone walls while glossy media such as Metal or face-mounted Acrylic will accentuate the contrast and saturation of the colors.
